the scariest things we’ve seen behind the chair: a halloween letter from ivory house salon

Happy Halloween from all of us at Ivory House Salon.

In honor of spooky season, we thought we’d share the things that actually terrify hairstylists.

And no, we’re not talking about ghosts.

We’re talking about the truly horrifying things we’ve witnessed behind the chair.

The words, “I cut my own bangs.”

A box of at-home hair color sitting in your bathroom cabinet.

The sentence, “I used box dye, but it was only one time.”

Finding out your “trim” actually means six inches.

A Pinterest photo of bright blonde hair followed by, “I only want to come in twice a year.”

The realization that Thanksgiving is next month and your hair appointment isn’t booked.

Finding a random pair of scissors in your bathroom drawer.

Bangs cut with kitchen scissors.

Using a 450-degree flat iron with absolutely no heat protectant.

And perhaps the most terrifying phrase of all:

“Surprise me.”

The truth is, Halloween in the salon is one of our favorite times of the year.

The weather finally cools down.

Everyone starts thinking about richer hair colors, fresh cuts, and cozy fall vibes.

The salon fills with conversations about Halloween costumes, trick-or-treat plans, football games, and all the excitement that comes with the start of the holiday season.

And while we’re all for spooky season, we’d like to offer one final warning.

Please don’t let your next hair transformation become this year’s Halloween horror story.

Leave the scissors alone.

Step away from the box dye.

And if you’re considering cutting your own bangs, this is your sign.

Don’t.

Happy Halloween from your friends at Ivory House Salon in Dripping Springs.

Stay spooky. And please keep the kitchen scissors in the kitchen. 🎃
